Browser Round Up
We have all heard of Internet Explorer and most of us will be aware of the rise of Firefox, but we are probably unaware that there are over 100 existing web browsing applications out there. This is a round up of some of the most promising and unique.
Flock
Based loosely upon Mozilla Firefox, Flock can be described as a social web browser as it integrates Flickr, Twitter, Facebook and services such as RSS Feed-reader. An excellent web browser for serial bloggers, this application allows users to post blogs directly from the browser. Yahoo is the default search engine for Flock.
Safari
Safari is the standard web browser for MAC OS X just as Internet Explorer is the standard for Windows. The design of the Safari web browser is very much in keeping with the MAC OS X visuals with its classy liquid design. Safari can boast that it runs twice as fast as Internet Explorer and is now fairly stable and includes standards support for CSS.
Shiira
Shiira is a Mac web browser based offering private browsing options so that history and cookies are not recorded when activated. The browser is very like Safari in terms of speed and functionality and boasts an elegant and friendly user interface.
Space Time
Space Time is a 3D tabbed web browser with a lot of promise. This web browser allows you to view more than one web page at a time in an unlimited space. You can navigate swiftly between each web page as well as have the ability to flip and turn them.
GreenBrowser
This browser is neither actually green nor environmentally friendly. What it is though is fresh, light-weight application offering many tools you won’t find in conventional web browsers. One such tool is the ability to add shortcuts of software applications you use repeatedly in the external toolbar.
